ABOUT MELANIE DYER

Melanie Dyer lives and breathes country music. Growing up in regional Australia on her family farm in Australia’s Mount Russell, she began telling her stories through song at age twelve, when her autobiographical ‘Life on the Land’ was chosen as the anthem of the National Drought Appeal.

Ever since, she’s always put her truth, her life and her whole self into her music, from the cheeky infatuation of pop-infused ‘Memphis T-Shirt’ (a multi-million streaming crossover smash) to the stunning honesty of latest single ‘Fences’, which bares the wisdom of her young heart.

Melanie’s authentic blend of her farm girl roots with dynamic stagecraft and hooky contemporary songwriting chops has led to performances at the biggest country festivals around the world, from CMA Fest in Nashville to CMC Rocks in Australia and many more. Numerous trips to Nashville have seen her embraced by the Music City songwriting community, leading to collaborations on some of her most popular songs and a duet with rising US country star Troy Cartwright.

Her albums Fresh (featuring a Morgan Evans co-penned title track) and Between You and Me have earned her Golden Guitar nominations and the APRA Professional Development Award. Memphis T-Shirt saw her cross over into the mainstream, played on NOVA, SCA and Grants, as well as spending 6 weeks at #1 on Australian Country Hot 50 Chart and earning her an APRA nomination for Most Performed Country Work.

Melanie (known as ‘Mel’ to her mates) has always kept herself grounded and her heart open. She writes songs as if she was your best friend: taking your hand and leading you to the next adventure, the lessons learned from a broken heart or the sorry-not-sorry ‘regrets’ of a night out that became a great story. It’s this down to earth perspective and warm charisma that has made her a sought after collaborator on stage, in the studio and as a songwriter. ‘Dumb Decisions’, her duet with Caitlyn Shadbolt, became a fan favorite and its popularity led to a national co-headline tour.

An action-packed 2023 saw her rock festival stages around Australia, return to the US once again to perform and write, and release three hit standalone singles. Melanie has set the stage for 2024 to be her biggest year yet, as she gets set to return to the studio for her next record and relocate to Nashville for the next stage in a career already packed with milestones.
